from ruin to pizza

When the old pensioners’ hut stood derelict for years. We saw something different.

With a lot of hard work, recycled materials and a fair bit of grit, we turned it into a working pizza kitchen and training space for young people.

That’s where Dojo Pizza started.

FROM AN OLD HUT TO A NEW START

For 70 years, the old pensioners' hut was the heartbeat of Lowton. When the roof finally gave way, we promised to honor that legacy by building something even stronger.

the transformation

It took 80 tonnes of grit to turn a ruin into a high-standard kitchen. By building with recycled containers, we’re showing Lowton’s youth that you can create a masterpiece from what others have cast aside.

Slice of hope project

For 70 years, the old pensioners’ hut was part of Lowton life. When it finally fell into disrepair, we decided not just to replace it, but to create something new. Today, there’s a pizza kitchen and training space where the old hut once stood. That’s the story behind Dojo Pizza.
